Background:
*An installation of holophonics sound or also know as 3D Sound. User will hear the sound from the headphone that been prepared. There's 4/5 headphone that be choose and each of them carry different outcomes.

Problem Identification:
*Manipulating an idea of round table which is open talk discussion and come out with solution. But this time around round table come out with close conversation.

Objectives:
*To show the other functionality of round table
*To share the secret with people shamelessly

Idealization & Concept:
*Creating an audio sound from the secret collection (self collect & build database)
*An exploration of 3D sound making

On my previous post, I attach together the experimental of 3Dsound editing by using Soundbooth and Audacity. But this time around, I starting to use Cubase SX3, as being suggest from our sound design lecturer Mr.Ajoi. He ask me to explore the Cubase SX3, I found it more easier than soundbooth.

We can even colour the track so you will work easily. The pink and purple tracks are controlling of right and left tracks , the blue track is a bass-track

So here the outcomes. I'm still not satisfied with this soundtrack, because of the quality while recording the voice. And the solution is, once again Mr.Ajoi help me with borrowing his studio for me after this coming break. Lot to do in this little time!

As I mention before in my previous post, my table talk will come together with 3D sound, Also known as Holophonic Sound.

Holophonic Sound is based on binaural recording, a technique in which stereo microphones are fixed within a prosthetic head—replete with ears and sinus cavities—to mimic the complex auditory system of the human head. Doing this makes binaural and Holophonic recordings sound more natural and more realistic than normal stereo recordings because we hear the recordings with the same nuances we would hear sounds in real life within our own heads.

When played in stereo, Holophonic sound is so realistic and three-dimensional that it can often arouse other senses—smell, taste, and touch—within most people who listen to it. Futhermore, Holophonic Sounds can stimulate areas of the ear that normal recording or real life sounds cannot. For this reason, some people with hearing impairments whose brains cannot process other sounds can hear Holophonic Sound. HighLab found Holophonic Sound to be visceral, tactile, and altogether head-shakingly neat.

On 24th March 2011, one sound workshop has been conducted in class and Mr. Goh Lee Kwang humbly has became our guest speaker that day. I really admire the way he mixed up the random ambient sound become a new soundtrack.

During the workshop itself, we are require to record our surrounding sound that divide to 3 category. Ambient, nature and mechanical. Me myself get 3track on that day. I try to mix up all of them so it can be one soundtrack. So here what its turn out!



On the same day, we been introduced to a new thing again! This time around its Circuit Bent. Mr.KY play us a video of Bent Pikachu and everyone is getting excited even after class!


The mixer really bring me back to internship era! ;)



I wish there's a lot more workshop to be conduct in next half-last trimester.

The latest inspiration is about sound and voices. Introduce to you, Witness by Susan Hiller. You can know about her here.

Witness installation about the eyewitness accounts of UFOs landing in fields in Buckinghamshire, hovering over Sydney or buzzing around villages in the Philippines. Entering the upper room of the chapel you see a multitude of little loudspeakers hanging on wires. A babble of voices talk at once, muttering like the voices of the dead or the legion of the damned. It is called Witness, but the sounds are blurred in this scary hive of noise, which is cinematic in its creation of atmosphere but also glib in a Hollywood way; we are encouraged not to listen to the details but to soak up the background hum. Put your ear to a speaker and an Australian is describing something odd he and his mates encountered. Leave him, the hum gets louder, and a girl from Spain is telling an equally eerie story.

FYP2 just be on track. Since my FYP1 result is not soooo good, I have too work really really hard this time! First week of class, me and classmate got a news that this time around not all of us will involved with exhibition.
